Spurs vs Everton – Premier league stats and best bets – Monday 7th March

Although the best bets in this write up are backed up by statistics they are not certainties and still could lose. I will use the statistics to point out likely events in these games, and the best bets are the types of bets that I believe stand a good chance of coming in. The best bets will vary in price as this is a case of taking what the stats give us, rather than trying to force bets for the sake of it. I will be as transparent as possible in each write up about why I feel each bet is best bet material. All bets are rated on a 1-3 points system of how strong we believe the chance of it happening is, with 3 being the strongest. This is just an indication of my confidence and should not be taken as advice on what amount to place on a bet, you should only bet what you can afford to lose.

Spurs come here in 7th spot, 6 points off Arsenal who are in 4th. Everton sit in 17th after the weekend, just 1 place above the bottom three, but they have games in hand on a lot of teams around them and even 3 or 4 games in hand on some teams, so they won’t be in all out panic mode at Goodison just yet. It ended 0-0 when these sides met earlier this season, but there have been some games between these sides recently that have been very entertaining. They drew 2-2 at the end of last season, just a couple of months after Everton had knocked Spurs out of the FA Cup with a 5-4 victory, there was another 2-2 draw back in 2019 as well as victories for Spurs in two fixtures in 2018 where they won 6-2 and 4-0. So this is a fixture that every so often throws up an incredible game of football. With these two teams it’s not difficult to see why, on their day both are a threat for every team in these league, especially Spurs as shown by their heroic 3-2 win away at Champions Man City, but at the same time it is no surprise to see them throw in a shocking performance. It makes this game a very tough fixture to weigh up. I don’t think either team will have too much joy trying to dominate possession, both should have opportunities to get forward which will make it a good game to watch and hopefully a good game for bets. Spurs are coming off a crushing defeat to Middlesbrough in The FA Cup, which was their last chance of silverware this season gone, so I feel we could get a fast start from them and their may be a level of frustration in the stadium amongst the fans and players. None of Spurs last 8 league games have ended in draws, which highlights their inconsistency and all or nothing type nature (pardon the pun). This is a crucial run of games for Spurs, as in their next 4 league games they play both Man United and West Ham, as well as having a difficult away trip to Brighton on the cards as well, so these next few games could be crucial in their bid to secure Champions League football next season. Everton got through their FA Cup tie against Boreham Wood, and will be enjoying a cup run which is offering some distraction from what has been a pretty dreadful league campaign. Everton have lost 6 of their last 7 league games and would love to get something from this game today, before they play back to back home games against Wolves and Newcastle, both of which could be crucial to the shape the back end of their season takes. The inconsistency of both sides will hopefully make this an interesting game, as really anything could happen. I feel there is a good chance that both teams score, Everton have scored in 8 of their last 11 league games and Spurs have scored 7 goals in their last 3 league games, as they put 3 past City, 4 past Leeds but struggled to break down Burnley. I feel both sides will get corners, though Spurs will likely take more. I do feel cards is a very good bet in this game. Both sides have players who are good for cards and players who are good at winning fouls, you add in Spurs coming off an embarrassing loss and Everton fighting for their Premier League lives plus Chelsea legend Frank Lampard in the dugout for Everton, and I feel this is a game that could get tasty at times. I fancy Spurs to come out on top by a 3-1 score line.

3-1 Spurs correct score – 12/1 bet365 (1 point)

3+ corners each team and 10+ booking points each team – 5/6 Skybet (3 points)

60+ match booking points – 5/2 Skybet (2 points)

Both teams to score, 1+ corner each team in each half and 20+ booking points each team – 11/2 Skybet (1 point)
